Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is set to revolutionize the live broadcast of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Samsung Electronics, an official partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), revealed on Wednesday its plans to showcase cutting-edge mobile technology during the Milan-Cortina Winter Games.

Samsung’s Olympic initiatives include live-streaming the opening ceremony with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, providing real-time translation support powered by Galaxy AI, setting up game analysis systems using Samsung monitors, operating Galaxy charging stations, and managing the Samsung House – a dedicated space for athletes, VIPs, and partners to connect.

In a groundbreaking move, Samsung will team up with the IOC and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to capture and broadcast the opening ceremony live using the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The event, scheduled for February 6 at Milan’s iconic San Siro Stadium, will host over 3,500 athletes from more than 90 nations and a crowd exceeding 75,000. Galaxy S25 Ultra devices will be strategically placed throughout the venue, including in the stands, athlete entrance tunnels, and alongside broadcasting equipment, enabling athletes and on-site camera operators to capture immersive footage.

Moreover, about 850 volunteers will be equipped with devices such as the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which feature Galaxy AI-powered translation capabilities supporting 22 languages to facilitate communication among athletes, officials, and visitors. Convenient smartphone charging stations will be available throughout the Olympic sites.

During both the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, Samsung will host the ‘Samsung House’ at Milan’s historic Palazzo Serbelloni. This exclusive venue will showcase Samsung’s Olympic technology partnerships and innovations to a select group of athletes, dignitaries, and partners.

Choi Seung Eun, Vice President of mobile marketing at Samsung Electronics’ MX Business Division, said Samsung was committed to making the Olympics more accessible and people-centric. She added that as the Olympic experience evolves, the company’s mobile technology would play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between athletes, fans, and communities, amplifying the thrill and emotional resonance of the Games for everyone involved.
