KyungDong Navien announced on Wednesday its participation in the North American HVAC exhibition, AHR EXPO 2026, to showcase its cutting-edge hybrid energy technology.

The AHR EXPO 2026 took place from Monday to Wednesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center. KyungDong Navien has made history as the first Korean company to participate in this exhibition for 17 consecutive years.

At this year’s expo, KyungDong Navien unveiled its innovative energy hybrid solution that combines electricity and gas.

The hybrid water heater is a groundbreaking product in the U.S. storage water heater market, being the first heat pump water heater capable of using both electricity and gas simultaneously.

During normal operation, it uses electricity through heat pump technology to minimize energy consumption. However, when electricity demand or hot water use spikes, it can switch to gas to ensure a reliable hot water supply.

The Navien HVAC System, a heating and cooling solution, employs the same hybrid approach.

While most U.S. systems rely solely on gas or electric heat pumps, the Navien HVAC System uniquely combines both. It supplements heating output with gas when the heat pump alone is insufficient, all while maintaining high efficiency.

The company also showcased its heat pump water heater HPWH, launched in June last year. This product, leveraging heat pump technology, offers superior energy efficiency and user-friendliness, earning praise from both consumers and installers.

Another highlight was the NFB700-C boiler, designed for commercial buildings. It features a stainless steel fire-tube heat exchanger that uses exhaust-gas heat to warm water, significantly improving durability and thermal efficiency.

Kim Taek Hyun, CEO of KyungDong Navien’s U.S. subsidiary, said the exhibition offered an opportunity to showcase the company’s high-efficiency HVAC systems and water treatment products. He added that the solutions are optimized for the evolving energy landscape, including the growing adoption of renewable energy, and are based on the company’s advanced hybrid technology.
