Dyson has unveiled its groundbreaking Dyson CameraJet™ in South Korea, a revolutionary device that merges teeth brushing and interdental cleaning into one sleek package.
The launch event for this game-changing oral care system took place on the 10th at the picturesque Gavit Island in Banpo Hangang Park, Seoul.
The CameraJet is Dyson’s debut in the oral care arena, boasting a cutting-edge camera system that precisely identifies those tricky, hidden gaps between teeth.
It is designed to remove plaque by spraying the liquid contained in the product’s body in a conical jet (a stream of liquid or air ejected at high speed through a narrow passage) while gently acting on the gums.

Rich Bacon, Head of New Business at Dyson, who led the product’s development, attended the event in person and explained why Dyson turned its attention to oral care.
Bacon pointed out that for decades, oral care has remained stuck in a routine of squeezing toothpaste, brushing, rinsing, and flossing—repeating these steps morning and night.
He continued that although many people understand the importance of flossing, they fail to do so because cleaning between teeth is tedious and time-consuming, yet technological innovation has been stagnant.
He emphasized that dyson engineers have long been focused on this issue, adding that the goal was to combine brushing and interdental cleaning into a single process to offer a more convenient approach to oral care.
Camera Identifies Tooth Gaps and Delivers a Jet Spray in 0.1 Seconds… AI Technology at the Core
The core technology of the CameraJet is the Gap Optical Targeting™ camera system.
It uses a 1-square-millimeter (㎟) macro lens camera with 100,000 pixels to analyze 28 images per second, and an artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning algorithm to precisely predict the gaps between teeth.
Within 0.1 seconds of the camera detecting the interdental space, it sprays liquid in a cone-shaped pattern onto the target area, ensuring thorough cleaning even in hard-to-reach areas between the teeth.
The CameraJet also features a 3D Sonic Brush. The powerful sonic motor that drives the brush vibrates 245 times per second, providing superior plaque removal performance compared to a regular toothbrush.
The dual-bristle brush head incorporates technology that allows each section of the bristles to vibrate in three dimensions, precisely removing plaque even from deep within the mouth. In particular, the bristles are designed to move continuously, making them more effective at removing plaque.
Bacon, the project lead, explained that to clean these areas properly, it must first detect the gaps with precision, adding that it’s important for the bristles to move effectively along the contours of uneven teeth, even when pressure is applied.
The CameraJet also features a Live View function that syncs with the MyDyson™ app to allow users to view the inside of their mouth in real time.
Bacon explained that the camera built into the device is on par with a high-definition endoscope, allowing users to see the same view a dentist would through the app’s Live View feature.
The camera is activated only during Live View or automatic jet spraying, and no images are saved to the device or the cloud.

This event is a continuation of the Dyson CameraJet global launch event held in Paris on September 1.
Various interactive spaces were set up at the venue to vividly demonstrate the features of the Dyson CameraJet. The entrance was designed to resemble the CameraJet’s conical jet stream.
The CameraJet’s core feature, using camera technology to capture gaps between teeth that are difficult to see with the naked eye, was also rendered as media art on screens at the Gabit Island venue.
Additionally, the event featured a Tech Zone where visitors could learn about the CameraJet’s development process and technology, a Demo Zone where they could experience the product’s operating principles firsthand, and a Selfie Zone that recreated a real-life bathroom environment.
Bacon, the project lead, emphasized that Dyson is a company that solves problems through engineering, adding that rather than limiting themselves to specific business areas, it has focused on the inconveniences consumers face in their daily lives and resolved them using Dyson’s technology and approach.
Meanwhile, the CameraJet is available in two colors: Ceramic Pink and Ceramic Ultra Blue. It can be purchased through the official Dyson website and online channels.
