Delta Air Lines passengers flying from South Korea to the United States can now enjoy complimentary internet access during their journey. This service allows travelers to use messaging apps, browse social media, and even stream videos while in the air.

Delta Air Lines announced on Monday that it has expanded its free Wi-Fi service to transpacific routes connecting the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea, with the U.S.

The free Wi-Fi is provided through a partnership with T-Mobile, a major U.S. telecommunications company. Passengers can access the internet on their personal devices, such as smartphones and laptops, by simply joining Delta’s free loyalty program, SkyMiles.

Delta Air Lines currently offers Wi-Fi on about 1,300 aircraft. With this service expansion, the airline now provides free internet access across its international routes, connecting six continents.

Once connected to the in-flight Wi-Fi, passengers can access a variety of content through Delta’s digital platform, Delta Sync.

The service offers news content from prestigious publications like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, as well as entertainment options including movies and television (TV) shows from Paramount Global+. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy live broadcasts from Sport 24, including major events like Formula 1 races.

In addition to enhanced connectivity, Delta is improving its mobile services for Korean travelers.

The airline has revamped its mobile app, Fly Delta, and resumed domestic services in South Korea. The app enables users to search for and book flights, complete check-in procedures, access mobile boarding passes, monitor real-time flight information, and track their baggage.

Passengers can also manage their travel plans by changing or rebooking flights, canceling reservations, and accessing their SkyMiles account services. While the app is currently available only in English, a Korean version is slated for future release.

Delta has also introduced an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot called Delta Concierge.

SkyMiles members can use the app to inquire about assistance during flight disruptions, manage reservation cancellations, and locate their checked baggage. The chatbot also provides access to mileage account information and available electronic credits.

To better serve Korean travelers, Delta has implemented Korean language support for key inquiries, significantly enhancing the user experience for domestic passengers.

Jeff Mumau, Delta Air Lines’ Vice President for the Asia-Pacific region, commented on these developments: The expansion of the in-flight Wi-Fi service to the Asia-Pacific region now enables free internet access across all the international flights. Combined with the relaunch of the Fly Delta app and the introduction of Korean language support in Delta Concierge, it has significantly improved the travel experience for the Korean customers.
