North Korea recently organized a nationwide event for agricultural workers to exchange technical expertise and showcase research accomplishments. The country also highlighted its commitment to agricultural science by dispatching an agricultural cooperation delegation to Russia.

The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Saturday that the National Agricultural Sector Technical Experience Presentation and Scientific Research Exhibition was held from November 17 to 21 at the Science and Technology Hall. Agricultural workers, scientists, and laborers participating in the event introduced superior seed varieties and advanced cultivation methods. The exhibition was divided into nine sections, featuring over 1,000 papers and experience materials, as well as more than 10,000 exhibits.

The newspaper also announced that an agricultural cooperation delegation, led by Kim Kwang Wook, director of the Agricultural Science Institute, departed from Pyongyang on Friday.

The front page highlighted public reaction to Kim Jong Un’s attendance at the commissioning ceremony of the Hyesan Power Plant. The article emphasized the honor bestowed upon the people of Kangwon Province, stating that it would further strengthen their belief in self-reliance. It stressed that, through self-reliance, they would accelerate local reforms.

An article on the second page, titled “Fundamental Principles of Party Building,” asserts that to strengthen and develop the party as a revolutionary organization with a unified ideology and leadership, it is crucial to intensify efforts to establish a centralized leadership system at a new and higher level.

The third page emphasized the revolutionary spirit of the founding generation. The newspaper urged strict adherence to the party’s central leadership, calling for vigilance against negative trends such as idolization, exceptionalism, and self-interest, no matter how small they may seem.

The fifth page promoted the planting of Sangwon Poplar trees. While noting that these trees are average for construction timber, the article highlighted their utility as firewood and agricultural materials. The newspaper also reported that Hamhung Cement Factory was constructing a tile manufacturing plant capable of mass production.

The sixth page featured Samhung Middle School’s 80th anniversary celebration. It also covered Russian President Vladimir Putin’s comments on Arctic development and China’s decision to ban seafood imports from Japan.
