Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on Wednesday that it has implemented thynC, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered smart ward monitoring system, at CM Hospital, a comprehensive orthopedic specialty hospital.
The system continuously monitors patients’ vital signs and instantly alerts medical staff when abnormal indicators are detected. This enhancement aims to bolster a patient safety-focused care environment.
CM Hospital and Daewoong Pharmaceutical representatives explained that thynC can identify even subtle changes in vital signs, relaying this information to healthcare providers in real-time. This capability helps prevent situations that could potentially lead to severe health deterioration or safety incidents.
Hospital officials noted that given the high proportion of patients undergoing complex surgeries and elderly patients at their orthopedic specialty facility, close monitoring of vital signs is crucial. They expect thynC to significantly reduce the risk of in-ward safety incidents, such as falls, and greatly improve their ability to respond to high-risk patients.
With the introduction of this system, CM Hospital plans to elevate its overall healthcare quality by enhancing patient safety protocols, improving staff efficiency, upgrading service quality, and strengthening emergency response mechanisms.
Park Hyeong-cheol, head of exchange traded commodity (ETC) marketing at Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated that thynC is a patient safety-centered solution designed to help medical staff respond promptly to changes in patients’ conditions. Through its collaboration with CM Hospital, it will continue to support the practical implementation of smart ward technology to ensure it delivers real value in healthcare settings.
