The National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy Committee has agreed to cooperate with Cisco Systems, Inc. on AI security and the development of next-generation talent.

Lim Moon-young, standing vice chair of the committee, met with Pastor Valero, senior vice president for international policy at Cisco, on the 26th to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation in the AI era.

The meeting was held at the request of Cisco, which is seeking to strengthen its strategic partnership with Asia as the government implements its AI action plan.

Lim said, “To respond to the trends of the AI era, we recently reorganized and expanded the committee, and have made AI security a top priority, including the establishment of a dedicated security subcommittee,” adding, “Cisco, with its unparalleled network infrastructure and security technologies, is expected to play a greater role in building a safe AI ecosystem not only in Asia but also globally.”

Valero responded, “As a company that provides the foundational infrastructure connecting GPUs and data centers, as well as a leader in security, Cisco is ready to actively support Asia in advancing to become an ‘AI G3’ nation.”

The two sides also agreed to cooperate in training practical AI and security professionals through Cisco’s flagship education program, the “Cisco Networking Academy.”
