Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday that its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, clinched the top spot in Consumer Reports’ latest smartphone evaluation.

Consumer Reports, a monthly publication by the U.S. Consumer Union, is renowned for its in-depth analysis of consumer goods. The Galaxy S Ultra series has maintained its number one ranking for three consecutive years, starting with the S24 Ultra.

In this assessment, the Galaxy S26 Ultra stood alone at the summit with a total score of 88, based on a comprehensive evaluation of performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.

The device particularly excelled in the performance evaluation, achieving perfect scores in seven out of ten categories, including display quality, rear camera image performance, battery life, durability, and user-friendliness.

Hot on its heels, the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra shared the second spot, both scoring 87 points. Meanwhile, Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro Max, along with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Plus, tied for fourth place with scores of 86.
