KATSEYE’s Sofia to Take Break for Health Recovery

HYBE and Geffen Records announced via Weverse, their official fan communication platform, that Sofia, a member of the global girl group KATSEYE, will be temporarily stepping back from promotional activities. The companies stated that while it understands fans’ eagerness to see Sofia perform, her health remains the top priority.

They elaborated that following extensive consultations with medical professionals, Sofia has been advised to take time for rest and ongoing care to ensure a full recovery. Although Sofia is eager to participate in group activities, it believes prioritizing her health, safety, and long-term well-being is crucial.

The statement continued that it will closely monitor Sofia’s health and provide comprehensive support. It plans to reassess her condition in September and will update fans accordingly.

KATSEYE, a six-member multinational girl group, is a collaborative project between HYBE and U.S.-based Geffen Records. The group consists of Manon, Daniela, Megan, Lara, Sofia, and Yoonchae.

This news comes on the heels of another member, Manon, who temporarily suspended her activities in February to focus on her health. With Sofia’s hiatus announced just days before their comeback on August 15, KATSEYE will continue as a four-member unit for the foreseeable future.
