Daewoong Pharmaceutical has inked a deal with Promedius for domestic sales, distribution, and joint promotion of Osteo Signal, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered osteoporosis risk screening solution based on chest X-rays, the company announced on Thursday.

The contract signing ceremony took place on Wednesday at Daewoong’s headquarters, with key figures from both companies in attendance, including Daewoong’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lee Chang-jae and Promedius’s CEO Bae Hyun-jin.

Daewoong aims to expand its market reach through its nationwide network of medical facilities, while Promedius will support clinical implementation with its advanced medical imaging AI technology and competitive products.

Osteo Signal, which was recently showcased at the International Hospital and Health Tech Expo (KHF) 2026 Daewoong Alliance, uses AI to analyze chest X-rays taken during routine check-ups or general consultations to assess osteoporosis risk.

This innovative screening tool identifies patients at risk of osteoporosis using existing chest X-rays, eliminating the need for additional imaging and helping to determine which patients require further testing, such as bone density scans.

The partnership plans to roll out Osteo Signal primarily in healthcare settings where chest X-rays are routinely performed, including health screening centers and hospitals.

Through this collaboration, Daewoong seeks to broaden its business scope from traditional osteoporosis treatment to AI-driven early screening, bolstering its position in the digital healthcare sector. The company aims to create value across the entire patient journey, from identifying at-risk individuals to providing precise testing, diagnosis, and treatment.

Promedius intends to leverage Daewoong’s extensive medical network and marketing prowess to increase Osteo Signal’s presence in domestic healthcare settings. This will allow them to gather real-world experience and references while expanding the clinical and commercial applications of their medical imaging AI technology.

Lee Chang-jae, CEO of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, stated that the healthcare landscape is shifting towards using AI to detect early disease signals and connect patients with precise diagnostics and appropriate treatments. It’s committed to developing an integrated osteoporosis management model that seamlessly links early screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Promedius is a cutting-edge medical imaging AI firm that develops solutions to identify disease risks through AI analysis of medical images such as chest X-rays. Their portfolio includes innovative products like the Osteo Signal for osteoporosis risk screening.
