On May 27, Incheon’s Inha University announced that the Florida Economic Delegation visited the Aerospace Convergence Campus to promote various international exchanges and cooperation with the state government and the university.

Inha University and the Florida Economic Delegation took time to share their current statuses and later discussed potential research and development (R&D) cooperation in urban air traffic. Through this visit, the Florida Economic Delegation expressed its intent to foster close cooperation with Inha University in industries such as aerospace and urban air traffic.

Florida is currently home to industry clusters with the world’s top technology in aerospace and defense, receiving full research and development support from the U.S. federal government.

The University of Central Florida boasts departments in space aviation and future mobility, actively conducting joint global urban air traffic research and development projects. Meanwhile, the Institution for Aerospace Industry-Academia Collaboration discussed activating the GURS (Global UAM Regional Summit) global partnership for building a future city with Orlando, Osceola, and Orlando Metropolitan Aviation Authority (Orlando International Airport).

They also provided information about the K-UAM Confex international conference, scheduled to be held at Paradise City in Yeongjong on October 30 this year. The Florida Economic Delegation met with Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong Bok, and Osceola County delivered a letter of intent to join GURS.

Inha University President Cho Myeong Woo said, “Through this visit, we will strive to make Inha University a focal point in promoting more active international exchanges, joint research, and development programs between South Korea and the United States.”
