North Korea, returning to the Summer Olympics after eight years, has announced that diver Kim Mi Rae and wrestler Ri Se Ung will be its flag bearers for the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

The closing ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris.

Unlike the opening ceremony, which featured a fully open format along the Seine River, the closing ceremony will be held inside the stadium.

According to the Paris Organizing Committee, South Korea will enter 48th in the procession, while North Korea is scheduled to enter 153rd.

South Korea has not yet announced its flag bearers for the closing ceremony, while North Korea has confirmed Ri Se Ung and Kim Mi Rae for this role.

At the opening ceremony, diver Lim Young Myung and judoka Moon Sung Hee carried the flag of North Korea. 

For the closing ceremony, flag bearer Ri Se Ung won a bronze medal in the men’s Greco-Roman wrestling 60 kg category. At the same time, Kim Mi Rae earned a silver medal in the synchronized 10m platform diving and a bronze medal in the women’s 10m platform diving.

So far, North Korea has won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals, placing them in a tie for 68th in the overall standings.
