Samsung Display announced on Thursday that it will partner with SEGA to operate a Quantum Dot Organic Light Emitting Diode (QD-OLED) quality experience zone at Gamescom 2025, the world’s largest gaming exhibition, scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany from Wednesday to Sunday.

Visitors will have the chance to preview SEGA’s upcoming global release, Sonic Racing Crossworld, showcasing its stunning visuals on cutting-edge QD-OLED monitors.

To enhance the gaming experience, Samsung Display has collaborated with Dell and MSI to exhibit 50 monitors featuring 32-inch 4K QD-OLED technology, allowing Gamescom attendees to witness firsthand the superior gaming quality offered by QD-OLED displays.

A standout among the exhibits is Alienware’s AW3225QF model, the world’s first 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor. With its impressive 240Hz refresh rate, it caters to both personal computer (PC) and console gaming enthusiasts. Dell’s S3225QC model is tailored for console gaming, boasting AI-enhanced three-dimensional (3D) spatial audio. Meanwhile, MSI’s MAG321UP model delivers a reliable gaming experience through its proprietary OLED Care 2.0 technology.

A Samsung Display spokesperson highlighted that the showcased monitors have earned the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) DisplayHDR™ True Black 400 certification. This accolade recognizes their exceptional black level representation and contrast ratios, as well as outstanding color accuracy attributed to the optical properties of Quantum Dots. The spokesperson explained that the combination of lifelike image quality and vibrant color expression will significantly elevate the immersive gaming experience.

Set for official release next month, Sonic Racing Crossworld is a high-octane racing battle game featuring beloved characters from the Sonic franchise. Players can mix and match various vehicles and characters, promising a more dynamic and engaging gameplay experience. The game is generating buzz for its enhanced track designs, which are expected to deliver an even more exhilarating racing experience.

Ivo Gerscovich, SEGA’s Chief Business and Brand Officer, emphasized that to fully appreciate the enhanced graphics and heart-pounding speed of Sonic Racing Crossworld, QD-OLED is the ultimate choice. Further, it is noted that its precise color representation, expansive color gamut, and flawless image quality without motion blur will immerse players in the game like never before.

As an additional highlight, Samsung Display will install 65-inch and 77-inch QD-OLED televisions on the exterior of the SEGA booth. These displays will showcase the breathtaking graphics of Sonic Racing Crossworld in unparalleled quality, offering visitors a glimpse of the game’s visual splendor.
