Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of North Korea’s Workers’ Party, sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published Kim’s full message on its second page on Wednesday.

In his message, Kim stated that he extends warm congratulations on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He noted that in the 76 years since the establishment of New China, the Chinese people have courageously overcome challenges under the leadership of the Communist Party, achieving remarkable success in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity while building a modern socialist state.

Kim expressed his confidence that the Chinese people would continue to unite around Xi, ushering in a new era of vibrant national development and achieving significant victories in their historic journey toward rejuvenating the Chinese nation.

He emphasized that the friendship between North Korea and China, established by previous generations of leaders, has continuously strengthened through their joint struggle for socialism, weathering historical challenges across generations. Kim highlighted the grand commemoration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War, held in Beijing on September 3, as a pivotal moment that showcased China’s comprehensive national power and international standing.

Kim affirmed that regardless of global political shifts, North Korea remains committed to deepening its traditional friendship with China. He stated that North Korea is prepared to work closely with China to enhance their cooperative relations in line with current needs and the aspirations of both peoples, jointly striving for regional and global peace and stability.

Previously, Xi had sent a congratulatory message to Kim for North Korea’s 77th founding anniversary on September 9. Xi described China and North Korea as traditional, friendly neighbors linked by shared geography, emphasizing that nurturing and developing Sino-North Korean relations remains a consistent and unwavering strategic policy of China’s government and Communist Party.

Kim sends his annual congratulations to Xi on China’s National Day. Following Kim’s recent visit to China for the 80th anniversary celebrations of China’s victory, the friendly ties between North Korea and China have continued to strengthen.
