The Presidential Office urged North Korea on October 5 to join the path of dialogue and cooperation for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the international community. This comes in response to Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the North Korean Workers’ Party, claiming a radical evolution of the U.S.-South Korea nuclear alliance and stating that it will implement military technical measures to maintain the balance of power.
The Presidential Office made this announcement through a press release.
The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported that Kim attended the Defense Development 2025 arms exhibition in Pyongyang on October 4.
During the event, Kim asserted that various training exercises are being conducted to implement and master the hazardous scenarios that follow the so-called nuclear operational guidelines and the radical evolution of the U.S.-South Korea nuclear alliance. He added that recently, the U.S. has taken military buildup measures to expand its military assets in South Korea and the surrounding region, posing a real and serious threat to the security and that of neighboring countries.
Kim further stated that they are closely monitoring the deployment of U.S. strategic strike capabilities and reconnaissance assets targeting the Korean Peninsula and the surrounding area, as well as the associated military hostile acts, in relation to potential new threats to national security. He emphasized that North Korea has taken clear countermeasures in response.
