The National Security Office convened an urgent security assessment meeting on November 7 in response to North Korea’s launch of an unidentified ballistic missile into the East Sea.

The meeting brought together officials from the Department of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other relevant agencies. This swift action was prompted by North Korea’s latest ballistic missile test, coming just two weeks after their previous launch on October 22.

During the session, the National Security Office evaluated the U.S. response and issued directives to relevant agencies regarding necessary measures. They also called on North Korea to cease its provocative missile launches, which violate the United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions and pose a threat to stability on the Korean Peninsula.

The National Security Office immediately briefed the President on North Korea’s ballistic missile launch.
