North Korea conducted test firings of an upgraded large-caliber multiple rocket launcher system, incorporating new technology, under the direct supervision of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party.
On Wednesday, the front page of Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party, reported that the Missile Bureau had carried out test firings the previous day to verify the effectiveness of the newly enhanced large-caliber multiple rocket launcher weapon system.
According to the newspaper, four rocket shells successfully hit a maritime target 358.5 kilometers (about 223 miles) from the launch site. Kim emphasized the significance of the test, stating that today’s trial is crucial in bolstering the effectiveness of its strategic deterrence.
