On Monday, North Korea’s ruling party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, featured a front-page editorial titled, The Workers’ Party of Korea is a Revolutionary Party that Nurtures the People and Accelerates a Bright Future through the Power of the People. The article emphasized the party’s commitment to absolute people-centeredness and its focus on ideology.

Quoting Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, the newspaper asserted that the upcoming five-year struggle would rely entirely on their self-reliant capabilities and the great strength of their people. It claimed that the nation’s dignity and power have been strengthened over the past five years. The paper also touted rural housing construction, local development policies, and education and health initiatives as centennial plans, promoting them as achievements of the people-first principle.

The front page also reported on high school graduates visiting the new Saebyol Street memorial for veterans of overseas military operations. Graduates from Rimwon High School in Ryongsong District pledged their commitment before a hero’s medal and the national flag during visits to veterans’ families. Students from various schools, including those in Sadong and Moranbong Districts, planted trees at the memorial, vowing to follow in the heroes’ footsteps.

Page 2 featured an article titled, The Great Pioneers of the Self-Reliant Era, highlighting Kim Il Sung’s self-reliant policy. It referenced a January 1951 statement during the Korean War, asserting the need to fight with its own methods, claiming a consistent self-reliant approach even in wartime. The paper emphasized the ongoing implementation of self-reliant policies, citing the post-war agricultural cooperative movement as an example.

Additionally, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly awarded the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest to several institutions, including Pyongyang National University of Management, Kang Gye Normal University, and the Sangwon Cement Complex.

The provincial industrial research institute promoted low-salt soy sauce standards and beverage quality improvement technologies. The May 28 Metal Research Institute was researching refractory brick lifespan extension. In international news, the Brazilian president criticized U.S. foreign policy, expressing a desire for peace over war.
