On Friday, CGBIO announced the successful completion of a symposium and training program on minimally invasive spinal surgery at the 2nd World Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic (UBE) Society America Conference in California. Led by Korean medical professionals, the event showcased the company’s integrated spinal surgery solutions in the advanced U.S. medical market.
The conference, an annual academic event organized by the World UBE Society America, has become a premier platform for international exchange in minimally invasive spinal surgery.
Spinal specialists from the U.S., Korea, Europe, and the Middle East shared cutting-edge surgical techniques and clinical experiences. The event featured a hands-on program combining anatomical-based training with case discussions, moving beyond traditional lectures.
Participants learned surgical approaches and decompression and fusion techniques through practical exercises, exchanging clinical insights. This format, blending theory and practice, has established the conference as a leading international platform for education and academic exchange in minimally invasive spinal surgery.
The two-day program consisted of anatomical-based training on day one at University of California, Irvine (UCI) Orange Medical Center in California, followed by a symposium on day two at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. Over 100 spinal endoscopy specialists from around the globe attended, sharing techniques and clinical case studies.
The first day’s training was groundbreaking, being the first U.S. program to fully integrate minimally invasive spinal surgery solutions into its curriculum. Participants experienced the entire surgical process step-by-step, enhancing their skills in conditions mirroring real clinical environments.
CGBIO’s medical equipment, including spine implants, endoscopic instruments, radio frequency (RF) systems, drill systems, and the newly acquired Solendos Endo Tower, was utilized throughout the practical program. This allowed participants to gain hands-on experience with the full range of equipment necessary for minimally invasive spinal surgery.
The training focused on clinically relevant techniques, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar procedures, as well as advanced methods using expandable cages and rhBMP-2 putty carriers.
Key opinion leaders from Korea and the U.S. served as proctors at each station, providing intensive, small-group instruction.
The second day’s symposium featured numerous global medical device companies as sponsors, with CGBIO participating as a top-tier sponsor, prominently showcasing its brand and technology.
Sessions covered emerging trends in minimally invasive spinal surgery, including robotics and navigation, U.S. market strategies, and real-world clinical experiences shared by global experts.
