BLACKPINK member Lisa has issued a heartfelt apology regarding the controversy surrounding the group’s 10th-anniversary fan event.

On August 14, Lisa took to the group’s fan communication platform to address the situation. It’s been a week since the 10th anniversary, and as everyone is aware, there’s been quite a stir online. She’s deeply saddened by how things unfolded and sincerely apologize for the way it all turned out, she expressed.

Lisa continued that she can’t even begin to imagine how disappointed everyone must have felt because she was equally upset. This anniversary celebration was meant to be a special moment for all of them.

She emphasized that she’s not here to justify anything or defend her position. She simply wants to cherish the love and connection it has shared. She’s truly grateful that we were able to come together for this occasion.

The K-pop star added that moving forward, she hopes it can continue to hold onto the love it has shared.

YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s management company, had previously announced on August 6 that the group would host a 10th Anniversary Meet and Greet at the National Museum of Korea on the afternoon of August 8. However, they initially stated that only some members would participate due to scheduling conflicts.

Prior to this announcement, BLACKPINK’s fandom had already expressed frustration over the lack of commemorative events leading up to the 10th anniversary. The backlash intensified after the event details were revealed, with fans upset about the short notice and the initial plan for partial member attendance at such a milestone celebration. Although the event was later changed to include all four members, fan disappointment persisted.

In response, other members also personally apologized to fans. Jisoo wrote on the fan platform that this anniversary is filled with regret. Thank you for celebrating the 10th year with us, and she’s deeply sorry for the disappointment they’ve caused.

Rosé shared similar sentiments, stating that she had hoped August 8 would be a day of smiles and happiness for all of them. She’s filled with regret that it didn’t turn out as it had wished.
