North Korea and Russia are in the final stages of constructing a vehicular bridge connecting the two countries.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of North Korea’s Workers’ Party, reported on Thursday that work to connect the sections of the North Korea-Russia border bridge had successfully progressed on Tuesday. The newspaper stated that this project stems from agreements made during the North Korea-Russia summit in Pyongyang.

The paper also noted that the North Korea-Russia border bridge has been completed in just one year since construction began, and we will soon celebrate its opening. This will strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

On the same page, it was reported that Jo Yong-won, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, met with a Russian delegation led by Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev at Pyongyang’s government building on Wednesday.

The front page announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the North Korea-Russia Friendship Hospital in Wonsan on the 22nd. North Korean officials in attendance included First Deputy Prime Minister Kim Tok-hun, Health Minister Kim Du-won, and External Economic Relations Minister Yoon Jong-ho, who chairs the North Korean side of the bilateral economic cooperation committee. Other attendees included local officials and workers from Wonsan.

Page 3 reported on a meeting of Agricultural Workers’ Union officials and farmers at the Kuksabong Revolutionary Site in South Pyongan Province on Wednesday. The gathering, led by Union Central Committee Chairman Han Jong-hyok, included the reading of a resolution.

Page 4 detailed drought alerts issued by the Meteorological Administration until April 30 for Pyongyang, South Pyongan Province, Nampo City, and parts of South and North Hwanghae Provinces. Drought warnings were also issued for areas in North Pyongan Province and parts of Kangwon Province. The paper stated that from March 1 to April 20, the nationwide average precipitation was 25.5 mm, 50% of the normal 50.7 mm and the lowest since 2015 for this period.

Page 5 emphasized the crucial role of leadership in fostering a refined cultural lifestyle. An article titled, Reflections from the Workers’ Rest House, claimed that vacationers deeply appreciate the care they receive and pledge their loyalty in return.

On page 6, an article asserted that Israel’s call for safe zones is a pretext for territorial expansion. All evidence suggests Israel plans to use occupied southern Lebanon as a base for broader military operations. The current arrangements between Lebanon and Israel are highly unstable, increasing the risk of another Middle East crisis.
