Smilegate Future Lab has announced plans to host an artificial intelligence (AI) conference featuring world-renowned scholars on Friday.

The 2026 Future Lab Education Conference is scheduled for June 20-21, with the theme Redefining Learning: AI and Agency.

The event will comprise presentation sessions and panel discussions. Notable speakers include Professor Mitchel Resnick from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab and Ariam Mogos, director of Future Lab at Stanford’s d.school.

Professor Resnick, creator of the block coding programming language Scratch, will present on Agency and Creative Learning in the AI Era.

Mogos will address Critical Design Skills for Future Generations in the Age of AI. Young filmmaker Kim Nayoung will also share her experiences with AI in movie production.

The panel discussion will feature Professor Resnick, Director Mogos, Dr. Ge Wang, co-director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Initiative, and Karen Wilkinson, founder of the Tinkering Studio at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Alongside the conference, hands-on events are planned. A creative workshop for 3rd to 6th graders will run concurrently with the conference on June 20.

On June 21, MIT Media Lab researchers and artists will conduct workshops on physical AI and machine learning.
