Kleannara is diversifying its global market presence in Southeast Asia and the U.S., accelerating efforts to secure new growth engines.
According to paper industry sources on Monday, Kleannara is intensifying its market penetration in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam, while boosting exports of white paperboard through its Packaging Solution (PS) division.
Since establishing its Ho Chi Minh City branch in Vietnam in 2022, Kleannara has implemented a localized sales and operational system to enhance its responsiveness to the Southeast Asian market. This strategy has yielded impressive results, with white paperboard export volumes from Vietnam projected to increase by 21% by 2025 compared to 2021 levels.
In response to this growth, Kleannara is expanding its product lineup, focusing on high-value packaging materials, specifically Clay Coated Kraft Board (CCKB). CCKB offers superior strength, moisture resistance, and printability compared to standard white paperboard, making it ideal for beverage carriers, home meal replacement packaging, and premium consumer goods packaging.
A Kleannara spokesperson emphasized that Vietnam is a strategic hub due to its young demographic, role as a global production base, and the ongoing shift toward eco-friendly packaging. It plans to leverage the local operations to enhance the competitiveness in high-value packaging materials while continuing to expand into Southeast Asian and global markets.
Beyond its business-to-business (B2B) white paperboard sales, Kleannara is also making strides in the business-to-consumer (B2C) consumer goods market.
Last month, the company inked an export deal with a U.S. distributor to supply its flagship brand, Pure Soft toilet paper, to the American market.
Moving forward, Kleannara aims to stabilize its supply chain from California and gradually expand its presence in major retail stores across the U.S.
