This year, as SEVENTEEN celebrates their 11th anniversary since debut and navigates a period of military service, all members have solidified their commitment to the group by signing a re-renewal contract, once again proving their unity as one team.

HYBE, the parent company of SEVENTEEN’s label Pledis Entertainment, announced on Monday that they have successfully re-signed contracts with all 13 members of SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino).

The agency explained that all members not currently serving in the military have completed their contract renewals, while those fulfilling their military duties will sign sequentially as their service conditions allow.

SEVENTEEN expressed through their agency that it believes there’s nothing we can’t accomplish together, and they’ve all agreed to continue our journey as a team, aiming to go even further. They added that it invite the fans to join them in the commitment to challenge eternity as part of Team SEVENTEEN.

Following the announcement, members playfully posted on their fan platform Weverse, quipping, “Why am I still hungry? Is it because of the re-contract?” “It’s so hot; is it because of the re-contract?” and “Why am I so sleepy today? Is it because of the re-contract?”

Since their debut in May 2015 with “Adore U,” SEVENTEEN has captivated both fans and the general public with a string of hits including “Mansae,” “Pretty U,” “Very Nice,” “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “Clap,” “Oh My!,” “Left & Right,” “Rock with You,” “Hot,” and “Super.”

In 2021, SEVENTEEN had previously renewed their contracts with Pledis. At that time, Pledis stated that even before the expiration of their existing contracts, it engaged in in-depth discussions with all 13 members about the group’s future vision, reaching a consensus that led to an early renewal.

Subsequently, SEVENTEEN hinted at their second contract renewal with Pledis during their SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN] THE CITY concert at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium this past April.

During the event, S.Coups announced that it will continue to row together in the same boat, indicating their upcoming re-renewal contract. He added that they’ve had deep discussions among themselves, and all 13 members have decided to renew the contracts.

This decision is particularly significant as it demonstrates the members’ unwavering loyalty to the team and each other, despite the challenges posed by their current military hiatus period.

At present, Wonwoo is serving as a social service agent, while Hoshi and Woozi are on active duty in the army. Jeonghan, who was discharged last month, became the group’s first member to complete military service. Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino are set to enlist in the near future. Leader S.Coups received a military exemption due to a torn ligament, while Joshua, Jun, and The8 are exempt as foreign members.

To maintain their presence during this period, SEVENTEEN is actively engaging in various unit and solo activities. They’ve launched several sub-units, including BSS, JeonghanxWonwoo, HoshixWoozi, S.CoupsxMingyu, DKxSeungkwan, and the newly debuted V8 (The8xVernon) last month. Additionally, Dino is set to release his mini-album Gilboard on August 3 under his alter ego, Pi Cheolin.

Pledis has affirmed their commitment, stating that it will continue to provide comprehensive support for SEVENTEEN’s group, unit, and individual activities. With this successful re-renewal contract, fans are eagerly anticipating SEVENTEEN’s diverse future endeavors.
