Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has swung past the 1 million viewer mark in just two days since its release.

The Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system reported that as of 2:25 p.m. (Korean time) on Thursday, the web-slinger’s latest adventure had drawn a total audience of 1,001,040.

This achievement sets a new speed record for films released this year. The superhero flick is matching the box office pace of the 2018 blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, which ultimately attracted 11.23 million viewers and also hit the million-viewer milestone on its second day. Notably, it’s keeping pace with The Outlaws 4, another triple million-viewer hit of 2024.

In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, grappling with the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Our hero faces a new crisis as a mysterious foe who remembers his secret identity emerges, while Peter simultaneously struggles with uncontrollable powers from a DNA mutation. This high-octane blockbuster sees Spidey battling fresh threats to protect those he holds dear.

Holland’s previous outings as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man have been box office gold in South Korea. Spider-Man: Homecoming pulled in 7.25 million viewers, Far From Home webbed up 8.02 million, and No Way Home attracted 7.55 million, totaling an impressive 22.82 million moviegoers. This latest installment marks the first new chapter in the franchise since No Way Home hit screens five years ago.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now showing in theaters across the nation, ready to ensnare audiences with its web of action and drama.
