Son Heung-min’s Stellar Performance in MLS: Can He Score 5 Consecutive Goals?

LifestyleSon Heung-min's Stellar Performance in MLS: Can He Score 5 Consecutive Goals?

The Major League Soccer (MLS) has heaped praise on Son Heung-min (Los Angeles Football Club (LA FC)) for his impressive run of 6 goals in 5 games, declaring him to be in peak form since his arrival in the United States.

Son found the back of the net on August 2, scoring the opener in the 37th minute during the 2026 MLS away fixture against the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place in Canada. His contribution helped secure a 1-1 draw for his team.

This goal extended Son’s hot streak to four consecutive games with a score. The run began on August 18 against LA Galaxy, continued through matches with Salt Lake City on August 23 and Kansas City on August 26.

When factoring in the two goals he netted during the MLS All-Star exhibition match on July 30, Son’s tally rises to an impressive 6 goals in 5 games.

This scoring spree marks a dramatic turnaround from his goal drought during the first half of the season and the World Cup.

The MLS spotlighted Son’s goal against Vancouver, noting that Korea’s icon Son Heung-min found the net after a brilliant turn. They added that despite drawing blanks in the first 13 games of the season and remaining goalless during the World Cup, Son has been on target in every match since the tournament’s conclusion. He’s showcasing his best form since joining LA FC last August.

It’s worth noting that this is only the second time Son has scored in four consecutive games since his arrival in the U.S. The first instance occurred last year when he bagged 7 goals across four matches from September 14 to 28.

Riding this wave of momentum, Son will aim to set a personal best of scoring in 5 consecutive games when he faces Guadalajara in the League Cup on August 6 at 11:30 a.m.
