KCC Glass is setting up a local subsidiary in the southeastern U.S. to expand its presence in the North American market.
The company announced on Thursday that it will establish KCC Glass America Corporation in Columbus, Georgia this September.
KCC Glass aims to complete the subsidiary’s establishment and necessary preparations by year-end, with full operations slated to begin in the first half of next year.
The new subsidiary will focus on automotive glass sales, technical support, and logistics management for major U.S. automakers, including Hyundai, Kia, General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford.
By offering a diverse range of products such as laminated and tempered glass, soundproof glass, solar control glass, and heads-up display (HUD) glass, KCC Glass plans to enhance its responsiveness to customer needs in the North American automotive market.
Beyond automotive glass, the subsidiary will serve as a hub for expanding local sales of key construction materials, including architectural flat glass, flooring, and films. This dual-pronged approach aims to strengthen ties with automotive clients while tapping into the North American construction materials market.
Georgia, the chosen location for the subsidiary, is a crucial automotive industry hub in the southeastern U.S. It’s home to Kia’s U.S. manufacturing plant and Hyundai Motor Group’s Meta Plant America (HMGMA), with Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in neighboring Alabama, offering strategic advantages for customer service and logistics efficiency.
KCC Glass’s strategy centers on bolstering sales, technical, and logistical support for local automakers through its Georgia subsidiary, while simultaneously seeking new clients in the construction materials sector to broaden its North American business footprint.
A KCC Glass spokesperson stated that the U.S. subsidiary will serve as a strategic base for local sales, technical and logistical support in the automotive glass sector, as well as for expanding the construction materials business. It’s committed to strengthening the connections with local customers and continually exploring new business opportunities in the North American market.
