HYBE and Geffen Records’ global girl group KATSEYE has unveiled the cover art for their debut single.
KATSEYE revealed the cover art for their debut single album through their official social media on the 25th. The cover art includes messages that give a glimpse into their creative concept, drawing attention.
What’s especially striking is the six members of KATSEYE, portrayed in porcelain figures. From left to right are Lara, Yoon Chae, Daniela, Manon, Megan, and Sophia, with shattered porcelain fragments scattered below them. The title of their debut single, “Debut,” is presented in a sparkling design, adding a special touch.
Amid curiosity behind the meaning of the cover art, KATSEYE raised the expectations of global music fans by separately releasing a video explaining the word “Debut” in one word.
Sophia introduced the song as “bold,” Yoon Chae described it as “confidence,” Megan explained it as “a song that shows who we are,” Daniela said “intensity,” Lara called it “captivating,” and Manon emphasized it as “hot.”
In addition to the single cover art, KATSEYE has been igniting the excitement of the debut countdown by continuously posting on social media. Posts included the team logo trailer and videos introducing the six members’ individuality and aspirations.
They garnered the audience’s attention by unexpectedly revealing parts of their debut song and performance through a screen at the AliExpress 2024 Weverse Con Festival held on the 15th.
KATSEYE is also scheduled to meet global music fans at KCON LA 2024, which will be held from July 26 to 28. They have proven themselves as a group to watch by securing a spot in the KCON special lineup shortly after their debut.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE is the first global girl group from HYBE and Geffen Records and was formed through the audition project The Debut: Dream Academy. The project saw 120,000 applicants worldwide. They will officially start their activities with the release of their first single “Debut” on the 28th at 1 PM.
