On Wednesday, CHA Biotech’s subsidiary, CMG Pharmaceutical, announced a groundbreaking partnership with SKY Animal Medical Center. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on developing innovative pet health care products.

This exciting venture aims to create a new line of pet wellness supplements by combining colostrum exosome ingredients with existing materials. The partnership will cover everything from product development to distribution, ensuring a seamless process from lab to pet bowl.

In this dynamic duo, CMG Pharmaceutical will flex its scientific muscles, handling the nitty-gritty of raw materials, product manufacturing, and navigating the regulatory maze. Meanwhile, SKY Animal Medical Center will bring its real-world veterinary expertise to the table, advising on product formulations and spearheading marketing and distribution efforts.

The collaboration’s first project? A range of nutritional supplements designed to boost the health of our furry friends’ livers, pancreases, and kidneys. These products will harness the power of colostrum exosomes, a cutting-edge functional material for pets developed by the CHA Medical Research Institute (CHARI). Using advanced extracellular vesicle (EV) isolation and purification techniques, CHARI has created a truly unique ingredient. CMG Pharmaceutical has already secured approval for these colostrum exosome raw materials and set up a state-of-the-art purification facility.

For those not in the know, colostrum is nature’s first superfood – it’s the initial milk produced by mammalian mothers right after giving birth. Packed with immunoglobulins and other bioactive components, it’s essentially a power-up for newborns. Exosomes, on the other hand, are the body’s tiny messengers. These microscopic particles, secreted by cells, carry proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids, facilitating cellular communication.

This partnership is a win-win for both companies. CMG Pharmaceutical plans to expand its Chaor brand of pet products, specifically targeting the veterinary market with professional-grade offerings. SKY Animal Medical Center will leverage its distribution network to bring these jointly developed products to market, aiming to shake up the pet health care industry.

SKY Animal Medical Center is no small player in the veterinary world. Since opening its first location in Bucheon back in 2011, it has grown into a nationwide network of state-of-the-art animal hospitals. With branches in major cities like Incheon, Suwon, and Cheonan, they offer comprehensive care across various specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, and radiology.

Lee Joo-hyung, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CMG Pharmaceutical, is clearly excited about the future. The pet health care market is booming, he says. By combining the pharmaceutical and biotech expertise with hands-on veterinary knowledge, it’s creating something truly special. It’s committed to developing cutting-edge health care products and technologies that will revolutionize how it cares for the animal companions.
