Wontech, a leading beauty medical device company, is setting its sights on the Mekong region, with Thailand as its strategic base for targeting five key countries. The company aims to broaden its business scope beyond medical devices, venturing into cosmetics and home beauty devices, leveraging the sales infrastructure established through its local subsidiary.
On Friday, Wontech announced its participation in the 14th Korea-Mekong Business Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 28-29. During the event, the company showcased its flagship products and engaged in discussions with local businesses to explore potential collaborations.
The forum was organized to bolster economic cooperation and business partnerships between South Korea and the five Mekong countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. Wontech, in partnership with Wonmedico, set up a joint booth to exhibit its high-frequency medical device Olijio, alongside cosmetics and the home beauty device Oliji Home.
A highlight of the event occurred on Wednesday when Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sithar Phuangketkeow, visited Wontech’s booth. The minister expressed particular interest in Olijio, as well as the company’s cosmetics and home beauty devices. Wontech took this opportunity to outline its success with Olijio in the Thai market and discuss plans for future product launches in the region.
Throughout the forum, Wontech’s Thai subsidiary held a series of meetings with major local distribution and healthcare companies to explore collaborative opportunities. The discussions centered on joint sales and marketing initiatives, business-to-business (B2B) partnerships targeting regional companies, and strategies for distributing cosmetics and home beauty devices.
Thailand holds a pivotal position in Wontech’s Southeast Asian expansion strategy. The company has established a direct sales system, bypassing exclusive distributors, and has successfully secured ten medical device approval certifications in the country. Leveraging this local sales network and regulatory groundwork, Wontech plans to extend its reach across the Mekong region, tailoring its market entry strategies to suit each country’s unique characteristics.
Looking ahead, Wontech is set to host the W Summit in Thailand at the end of November. This event will bring together medical professionals and industry stakeholders, providing a platform to showcase the clinical efficacy and technological prowess of Wontech’s key products while fostering stronger relationships with local medical personnel.
A Wontech spokesperson emphasized that Thailand serves as a strategic springboard for the Southeast Asian expansion. By leveraging the diverse product portfolio, spanning from medical devices to cosmetics and home beauty appliances, it aims to tap into new growth opportunities across the Mekong market.
Concurrently, Wontech continues to strengthen its foothold in major Asian markets, maintaining a trajectory of stable revenue growth. This year, the company is rolling out its global brand event, Wave, across key Asian nations, including Japan and China. This initiative aims to enhance engagement with local medical professionals and consumers, while elevating the brand’s credibility through a premium positioning strategy centered around its flagship product, Olijio.
