Rokit Healthcare is set to showcase its cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI)-powered skin regeneration technology at a prestigious medical device expo in China, following an exclusive invitation from the Chinese government.

The company announced on Friday that it will participate in the 2nd International Innovative Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Expo in Boao, Hainan, on November 20. At the event, Rokit Healthcare will unveil its AI-driven hyper-personalized skin regeneration platform and outline its strategy for commercialization in the Chinese market.

This government-sponsored expo, dedicated to innovative medical advancements, will take place in the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone. Rokit Healthcare, honored by the Chinese government’s invitation, will present its groundbreaking technology and plans for local business expansion.

The company is also poised for its inaugural export to the Chinese market. Through a distribution agreement with Chinese medical firm Guorun International Medical, Rokit Healthcare aims to export its state-of-the-art Dr. INVIVO equipment and skin regeneration kits in December.

Looking ahead to January, the company will introduce AI-powered diabetic foot skin regeneration procedures at Boao Super Hospital. This innovative approach will employ three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting technology to deliver tailored treatments based on individual patient needs.

The Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, established in 2013 with the blessing of China’s State Council, is a specialized medical district designed to fast-track the introduction of innovative foreign pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Recent data from the Hainan provincial government reveals that the zone now hosts 36 medical institutions and has facilitated the introduction of over 460 types of cutting-edge overseas pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

In a significant move, China’s National Medical Products Administration partnered with the Hainan provincial government in 2021 to launch a pilot program. This initiative aims to incorporate real-world data into the approval process for pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

This progressive approach has already yielded results, with several foreign medical devices, including glaucoma treatment drainage tubes and precision laser systems, securing sales approval in China based on real-world data collected in Boao Lecheng.

Rokit Healthcare plans to capitalize on this opportunity by using real-world data gathered during procedures to expedite its regulatory approval process with the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Upon receiving regulatory approval, the company anticipates expanding its operations into mainland China’s burgeoning regenerative medicine market.

A spokesperson for Rokit Healthcare emphasized the significance of their upcoming milestones, stating that the November announcement, December export, and January procedure mark a pivotal shift from distribution agreements to tangible treatment and export activities. It’s committed to accelerating the adoption of AI-driven regenerative medicine by addressing the pressing need for diabetic foot and chronic wound treatments in China, home to the world’s largest population of diabetes patients.
