Atomy announced on Friday that its Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Imaging (EPRI) Skin Cleansing Device, co-developed with partner company Electri, won a special award and bronze medal at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is one of the world’s most prestigious invention showcases, featuring over 1,000 innovations from 35 countries. This global event comprehensively evaluates inventions for their innovation and technological sophistication. At this year’s exhibition, the South Korean delegation, including Atomy, Korea Expressway Corporation, and Korea Southeast Power, secured a total of 15 awards, demonstrating South Korea’s technological prowess on the international stage.

Atomy’s entry is a skin care device that employs electroporation and reverse iontophoresis. It has been hailed as a next-generation cleansing technology that addresses the limitations of conventional physical cleansing methods.

This innovative technology creates temporary micro-channels in the skin barrier using electrical stimulation, facilitating the expulsion of impurities from within the skin. It also features a smart function that measures skin condition based on Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL), a key indicator of skin moisture loss, and automatically adjusts its output accordingly.

Moreover, the device combines electrical cleansing with physical cleansing using a silicone brush, enhancing its effectiveness in removing fine dust and ultra-fine pollutants.

Human trials demonstrated a remarkable 98.96% improvement in cleansing efficacy after just one use, significantly outperforming traditional hand-washing methods, which achieved only 87.21% efficacy.

This groundbreaking technology will be incorporated into the Atomy EPRI Skin Cleansing Device, slated for release in the latter half of this year.

An Atomy spokesperson stated that the company plans to continue its technological development efforts to strengthen its competitiveness in the global market.
