LG Group’s chairman traveled to Silicon Valley on April 2 to meet with leadership at Palantir and Skild AI, two prominent players in the global artificial intelligence space, seeking collaboration opportunities to accelerate LG’s AI commercialization efforts.

During the meeting with Palantir’s CEO and key executives, discussions centered on Ontology technology, AI-based decision-making frameworks, and notable innovation cases. Ontology technology enables real-time simulations by connecting fragmented data across an organization into a unified, actionable system. The LG chairman expressed strong interest in Palantir’s work in manufacturing and industrial settings, exploring potential benchmarking opportunities to strengthen LG’s execution in AI-driven business operations.

At Skild AI’s Silicon Valley headquarters, the LG chairman witnessed a live demonstration of humanoid robots equipped with Skild AI’s intelligence platform and discussed the potential impact of physical AI on industrial environments. The visit focused on Skild AI’s growth strategy and robotic intelligence technology, which the chairman used to evaluate the direction of LG’s robotics business and physical AI implementation in manufacturing.

Skild AI, co-founded by two Carnegie Mellon University professors, is considered a top-tier firm in robotic foundation models — the core intelligence system that serves as the “brain” for robots. The company has previously secured strategic investments from SoftBank and Nvidia. LG CNS formed a strategic partnership with Skild AI last year and plans to develop industrial AI humanoid robot solutions built on the company’s robotic foundation model. LG Innotek is also exploring potential component supply collaborations with Skild AI.

LG has already deployed robotic technology across hospitality and logistics settings, using autonomous mobile robots for serving, delivery, guidance, transportation, and loading. The company has recently expanded into home robotics using humanoids.

The chairman also visited LG Technology Ventures, the group’s corporate venture capital arm, to review future investment strategies and discuss shifts in the U.S. investment landscape. He urged the team to act as a forward base for LG’s future portfolio through proactive investments amid the ongoing AI transition. Following the Silicon Valley tour, the chairman told leaders across major affiliates that speed is paramount in the AI era, stressing the need for swift execution even on smaller initiatives to build momentum and drive results.
