SK Bioscience said on June 1 that it recently hosted a family open house event, titled “SK Scientist Family Housewarming,” at its headquarters in Songdo, Incheon. More than 450 employees and family members attended the event.

The gathering marked the first time the company invited employees’ families to its new headquarters since relocating both its corporate offices and research center to Songdo in January. The event was designed to share the company’s future vision and work environment with family members.

The new Songdo headquarters serves as an integrated hub connecting research, process development, business development and marketing functions. The facility is positioned as a key base for expanding the company’s global vaccine and biotechnology business.

Held under the theme of a “housewarming party” for the new headquarters, the event was organized in an open-house format that allowed guests to freely explore the facility. Family members toured office spaces and research facilities used by employees and participated in activities including family photo sessions, an AI-powered career exploration photo zone and a “message mailbox” designed to create lasting memories.

The company also prepared science-themed experiential programs reflecting its identity as a biotechnology company, including a “Bio Laboratory” and “Little Scientists Lab.” The activities were intended to help children better understand their parents’ work and the biotechnology industry in an engaging and accessible way.

In addition, the first-floor lobby and outdoor areas featured family-friendly amenities such as a game zone, coloring zone, food trucks and a café. Displays throughout the building showcased the company’s history, major products and vaccine development process, allowing visitors to learn about SK Bioscience’s business and long-term vision.

Ahn Ki-chae, head of corporate culture at SK Bioscience, said the Songdo headquarters embodies the company’s future growth strategy and expressed hope that the event gave employees’ families an opportunity to better understand and connect with the company’s work and vision.

“We will continue expanding corporate culture programs that allow employees and their families to share in the company’s growth and values,” Ahn said.

Separately, SK Bioscience recently announced plans to introduce a restricted stock unit (RSU) compensation program for all employees.

To support the initiative, the company plans to purchase approximately $12.4 million worth of its own shares by July.

As part of the employee stock compensation program, SK Bioscience will acquire roughly 390,000 treasury shares — equivalent to about 0.5% of its outstanding shares — in installments between May and July.

The share repurchases will be conducted through open-market purchases, and all acquired shares will be used exclusively for employee compensation purposes.
