K-Beauty made a striking impression at the world’s largest biotech event, the BIO International Convention (BIO USA).

From June 22 to 24, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute hosted a chic K-Beauty pop-up store called K-BEAUTY ON, LAB2SKIN at the trendy LUCE LOFT in San Diego.

This fabulous event was part of the 2026 K-Beauty Overseas Pop-Up Store Support Project. It cleverly coincided with BIO USA 2026 in San Diego, aiming to showcase the cutting-edge bio-convergence tech of Korean beauty brands to global industry insiders.

The event’s catchy name, Lab to Skin, perfectly captures how biotech research in labs translates into real-world skin benefits. Ten innovative Korean beauty startups with bio-beauty expertise participated in this exciting showcase.

The pop-up was a beauty lover’s dream, featuring six distinct areas: a buzzing exhibition and sales zone, an eye-catching display area, an interactive experience zone, an informative education corner, a personalized consultation spot, and a chic networking lounge.

Visitors flocked to the exhibition and sales zone to check out product demos and snag some K-beauty goodies. The experience zone was a hit, offering high-tech skin analysis and bespoke skincare recommendations.

A star-studded media day brought beauty and wellness influencers to the event. The Institute hopes to leverage social media magic to spread the word about K-Beauty’s bio-convergence prowess to those who couldn’t attend in person.

The event wasn’t just about glam – it delivered real business results too. Becon, a cool startup spun off from Samsung C-Lab, inked an memorandum of understanding (MOU) with U.S. buyer Link One for stateside distribution. Talk about a glow-up for Korean beauty brands!

Hwang Seong-eun, the beauty boss at the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, gushed that with K-Beauty exports to the U.S. on fire, this pop-up is the chance to prove it’s not just pretty faces – they’ve got the science to back it up. It’s all in on helping these brands slay the American market!
