Rising girl group Rescene’s Minami has topped the buzzworthy rankings.
According to entertainment analytics firm Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex report released on Tuesday, Minami claimed the number one spot in the September third week television (TV)-Over-the-top (OTT) non-drama program buzzworthy participants category for her appearance on MBC’s “Radio Star.” This marks the first time an individual member of Rescene has secured the top position.
Rescene is a five-member girl group that debuted in March 2024. Earlier this year, they skyrocketed to fame when content featuring members Woni and Minami’s gal concept on Woni’s YouTube channel went viral, along with Minami’s Geoje Yahoo meme.
Lee Seo Jin, a regular cast member on SBS’s “My Grumpy Secretary,” secured the second spot. Park Bo Gum, who appeared in the 10th-anniversary travel special of “Love in the Moonlight,” came in third. MBC’s “I Live Alone” cast member Koo Sung Hwan took fourth place, while Son Ye Jin, who guested on JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,” rounded out the top five.
In the program category, Wavve’s “The Community 2: The Invisible Hand” claimed the top spot. The show’s popularity surged in its third week, largely due to the white team’s standout performance. MBC’s “I Live Alone” and tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” secured second and third places, respectively. “Radio Star” came in fourth, achieving its highest buzzworthiness this year thanks to Minami’s appearance. Mnet’s “Street World Fighter: Director’s War” took fifth place.
The rankings announced by Good Data Corporation were based on a survey of TV non-drama broadcasts and OTT original non-dramas that aired or were scheduled between September 14 and 20, including the participants and guests of each program.
