Kukje Pharma has expanded its cardiovascular treatment product line by launching a new antihypertensive drug that combines three active ingredients in a single pill.

The company announced on Tuesday that it released Xduo Plus Tablets, a triple-combination antihypertensive medication containing S-Amlodipine, Valsartan, and Indapamide, on August 1.

Xduo Plus Tablets is a unique formulation that combines three blood pressure-lowering components with different mechanisms of action into one pill. It contains Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), S-Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker (CCB), and Indapamide.

This new treatment option offers a triple-combination therapy for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with existing dual-combination drugs. The company states that this single-pill approach can improve patient adherence by simplifying the medication regimen.

In hypertension management, combination therapy using drugs with different mechanisms is widely used, as a single medication often fails to achieve target blood pressure levels.

This new product adds Indapamide to the company’s existing dual-combination drug, Xduo Tablets, which is available in dosages of 2.5/80 mg, 5/80 mg, 5/160 mg, and 10/160 mg.

Xduo Plus Tablets has been approved with a new combination formulation, granting it a six-year data protection period. This protection will remain in effect until 2032.

With this product launch, Kukje Pharma aims to bolster its position in the cardiovascular treatment market, particularly in the hypertension segment.

A spokesperson for Kukje Pharma stated that the introduction of Xduo Plus Tablets expands the portfolio in hypertension management to include triple-combination therapies. It plans to continue growing the product line in the cardiovascular treatment sector, complementing the existing Xduo Tablets.
