Coreline Soft is set to provide its cardiovascular image analysis software, AVIEW CAC, to Doctor Net, a Japanese remote imaging diagnostics firm. After securing regulatory approval and establishing distribution channels in Japan, the company aims to boost real-world usage by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) analysis technology into remote reading networks.

On Tuesday, Coreline Soft announced that under this agreement, AVIEW CAC will analyze chest computed tomography (CT) scans requested by Doctor Net, automatically measuring coronary artery calcification levels. The analysis results will be incorporated into the remote reading process and delivered to medical facilities as comprehensive reports.

Doctor Net collaborates with roughly 1,500 medical institutions across Japan, supporting approximately 3.2 million remote imaging diagnoses annually. Coreline Soft intends to broaden its reach in Japan by integrating AI analysis capabilities into the existing reading network.

This contract marks a significant step in expanding the practical application of Coreline Soft’s technology in the Japanese market. Unlike supplying products to individual hospitals, connecting to a remote reading network allows for AI analysis of imaging data generated within the existing infrastructure. However, future business success will hinge on the actual number of analyses performed and the growth of participating institutions.

Coreline Soft has already obtained approval from Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) for its pulmonary nodule diagnosis assistance software and certification from the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology (JRS). Following these achievements, the company inked a supply agreement for AVIEW CAC with M3 AI, a medical and healthcare platform provider, and has now further expanded its business reach through collaboration with Doctor Net.

AVIEW CAC is an innovative software that detects and quantifies coronary artery calcification from non-contrast chest CT images, eliminating the need for separate cardiac CT scans. This technology enhances the value of routine chest CTs by providing additional information for cardiovascular risk assessment.

In addition to its Japanese ventures, Coreline Soft has renewed its contract with 3DR Labs, a U.S.-based medical imaging post-processing company, for the fourth consecutive year. The company reports a 60% increase in annual AVIEW usage through 3DR Labs compared to previous years.

Kim Jin-guk, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coreline Soft, commented that Japan’s robust CT infrastructure presents an opportunity to enhance the value of existing imaging data. By integrating AVIEW CAC with Doctor Net’s remote reading environment, it aims to expand the user base and broaden the application of chest CT from pulmonary to cardiovascular assessments.

Doctor Net, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japanese medical data firm JMDC, is a key player in remote imaging diagnostics. JMDC, operating under the Omron Group, specializes in medical data and digital health initiatives. Doctor Net has established itself as more than just a reading service provider; it’s considered a cornerstone of Japan’s medical imaging data and remote diagnostic infrastructure.
