IVIM Technology engaged in discussions about collaborative bioimaging-based preclinical contract research organization (CRO) services with global companies at a Japanese bio-pharmaceutical exhibition. Following the reorganization of its CRO division in July, the company secured follow-up meetings and new business opportunities at its first international event.

IVIM Technology announced on Tuesday that it participated in BioJapan 2026, held from October 7 to 9 in Yokohama, Japan. During the event, the company conducted business discussions with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms, as well as research institutions.

The company reported that it confirmed 13 follow-up meetings at the event, including one with Japanese pharmaceutical giant Shionogi. Discussions with Shionogi centered on applying bioimaging-based CRO technology to central nervous system (CNS) disease research. Additionally, IVIM Technology is in talks to establish partnerships and sign memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with two firms, including Epsilon Molecular Engineering (EME).

In July, IVIM Technology restructured its CRO division, broadening its focus from academia to encompass the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical industries.

The company is developing a business model that integrates live cell imaging technology, which enables real-time observation of cellular changes in living organisms, with preclinical research services. This approach aims to evaluate the efficacy and mechanisms of action of new drug candidates.

Building on the follow-up discussions secured at this event, IVIM Technology plans to expand its collaborations with global pharmaceutical companies and strengthen its international revenue streams.

Kim Pil-han, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IVIM Technology, stated that its first global event since the reorganization confirmed strong interest from international pharmaceutical companies. It aims to leverage our bioimaging CRO technology to drive global sales growth.

IVIM Technology, a spin-off from Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST), specializes in intravital microscopy. The company develops and manufactures an All-in-One intravital microscope system that enables real-time observation of internal processes in living animals at cellular and molecular levels. Its product line includes the IVM-CMS3 (Confocal Multi-Photon), IVM-CM3, IVM-M3, IVM-MS3, and IVM-C3.
