AITRICS, a medical artificial intelligence (AI) company, is teaming up with Gangbuk Samsung Hospital to streamline hospital operations using large language models (LLMs). The partnership aims to develop a cutting-edge platform that will assist in creating outpatient medical records, summarizing imaging results, and facilitating nursing handovers, ultimately reducing the workload for healthcare professionals.

On October 23, AITRICS announced its selection as a consortium member for the 2026 AI Transformation (AX) Support Project at the Seoul AI Hub.

This initiative seeks to integrate AI technology into industrial settings, boosting companies’ technological capabilities and driving operational innovation. In collaboration with Gangbuk Samsung Hospital, AITRICS plans to create an LLM-based platform that will automate clinical record-keeping and improve hospital operations, addressing real-world healthcare needs.

Key focus areas include enhancing outpatient medical records, summarizing computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan results, and converting nursing handover voice data into text while providing concise summaries.

For outpatient care, the AI will distill extensive medical information, including patients’ diagnostic and medication histories, helping healthcare providers quickly access critical data. In radiology, the system will organize multiple CT and MRI scan results, offering a comprehensive view of patients’ examination histories. For nursing staff, the platform will transcribe handover discussions and highlight key points, significantly reducing documentation time.

Gangbuk Samsung Hospital will identify target areas for implementation based on repetitive tasks in outpatient and nursing departments. Healthcare professionals and nurses will be involved in evaluating the system’s functionality and clinical appropriateness. Both AITRICS and the hospital aim to validate the platform’s effectiveness in real-world healthcare settings, paving the way for broader adoption across other medical institutions.

Kim Kwang-jun, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AITRICS, stated that the goal is to develop AI solutions that address the most pressing needs in healthcare. It’s building a platform that can be seamlessly integrated into hospital operations, leveraging AI to enhance efficiency for healthcare professionals and drive innovation in hospital management.

Established in 2016, AITRICS is a pioneering medical AI company specializing in biosignal analysis. The company is renowned for developing AITRICS-VC (VitalCare), an innovative solution that predicts patient deterioration.
