Noul, a South Korean medical artificial intelligence (AI) company, is expanding its presence in Europe by supplying its cervical cancer diagnostic solution to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The company announced on the 28th that it had signed a new supply agreement for miLab CER, its AI-powered cervical cancer diagnostic solution, with a local medical device distributor in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Under the agreement, Noul plans to supply at least 16 miLab CER units to the country in phases over the next three years. After installation, the company will continue supplying consumables, including dedicated cartridges, based on testing volumes.

The local distribution partner has experience supplying diagnostic devices and testing products related to women’s health to gynecology clinics. Noul plans to initially supply private diagnostic laboratories through the partner’s existing medical network before expanding to university hospitals and public healthcare institutions.

Preliminary market research also found that local gynecologists responded positively to the technology. Alongside equipment deliveries, the company will provide training for medical professionals and laboratory personnel to support adoption in the local market.

The agreement is significant because it expands Noul’s cervical cancer diagnostics business from Eastern Europe into the Balkans. In November last year, the company entered the Eastern European market by signing an exclusive supply agreement with European medical device distributor Biomedica.

miLab CER is a diagnostic solution that automates the process of staining cervical cell samples, capturing digital images and analyzing them using AI. Its key features include streamlined testing procedures and support for image-based interpretation and review of results.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, it reportedly takes an average of three to four weeks to receive the results of a conventional Pap test. Noul expects its solution to improve testing efficiency at local healthcare institutions and shorten diagnostic waiting times.

Cervical cancer is primarily associated with persistent infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). Pap tests and HPV tests are used to detect cervical cancer and precancerous lesions at an early stage.

A Pap test examines changes in the morphology of cells collected from the cervix. Digital image analysis technology can improve the efficiency of storing sample images and interpreting test results.

Noul is also seeking to secure additional supply channels across Europe. From the 22nd, the company participated in the 38th International Papillomavirus Conference (IPVS 2026), held over four days in Athens, Greece, where it presented a research poster related to miLab CER.

During the conference, the company also held business discussions with pathology and gynecology specialists and representatives of testing institutions from across Europe, including Greece, Portugal and Italy, about product adoption and supply opportunities. Noul plans to continue follow-up discussions based on the network established at the event.

Noul CEO Lim Chan-yang said, “This agreement in Bosnia is significant because it establishes a new supply channel in the Balkans in response to local demand for rapid cervical cancer diagnosis.” He added, “We will continue expanding our supply footprint across Europe through various forms of collaboration with local distribution partners that already have established gynecology networks.”
