LG Electronics announced on Monday the launch of its LG HomeBot AI Object Collection RONi, a cutting-edge vacuum cleaner that combines superior cleaning performance, convenient hygiene management, and innovative design. With RONi’s debut, LG aims to accelerate its expansion in the premium robotic vacuum market.

Two models tailored for different living spaces: Hidden Station and Object Station

RONi comes in two variants to suit diverse home environments and interior preferences: the Hidden Station, designed for under-sink installation with automatic water drainage, and the Object Station, a standalone unit that can be placed anywhere in the home.

The Hidden Station’s compact 15cm (about 0.4 inch) height allows for seamless integration into existing toe-kick spaces without sacrificing storage or requiring additional cabinetry. It’s perfect for those seeking a minimalist look with a completely concealed vacuum cleaner.

The Object Station features a sleek nightstand-inspired design, blending effortlessly into various living spaces. Its ergonomic design, including optimized height, handle thickness, and water tank accessibility, enhances user convenience.

Both models feature an automatic front door that keeps the device hidden when not in use, aligning with LG’s design philosophy of creating premium built-in experiences, as seen in products like the Fit & Max refrigerator.

RONi’s design excellence has been recognized with the Best of Best award at the 2025 Ergonomic Design Award, organized by the Korean Society of Ergonomics.

100°C steam technology applied to both main unit and station for enhanced cleaning and hygiene
In a world first, LG has incorporated 100°C steam functionality in both RONi’s main unit and station.

This steam feature effectively removes stubborn dirt and grease without chemical cleaners while eliminating harmful bacteria and allergens, promoting a healthier indoor environment.

During operation, RONi sprays 100°C steam onto its mop to tackle tough stains. Post-cleaning, the station uses 100°C steam and hot water to eliminate 99.99% of four harmful bacteria types, including Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

After cleaning, warm air drying reduces odor-causing substances by up to 97%. LG’s patented ‘Station Conditioning’ technology uses an upper exhaust fan to expel moisture, maintaining interior cleanliness.

RONi boasts enhanced cleaning power with 30W suction and a high-speed 180 revolutions per minute (RPM) mop for thorough floor cleaning.

User-friendly features include an extendable side brush reaching up to 46mm for corner cleaning and a dual brush system at the suction port to prevent hair tangling.

LG’s proprietary AI Object Recognition technology, coupled with eight onboard sensors, allows RONi to analyze room layouts and identify over 120 object types, including cords, plants, and pet waste. This enables safe obstacle avoidance and optimal cleaning strategies.

The LG ThinQ app notifies users of obstacle locations and automatically re-cleans areas once obstacles are removed.

LG ThinQ is a smart home platform that connects various appliances for remote control and monitoring. It learns user habits to optimize performance and deliver a personalized smart home experience.

RONi can distinguish between living spaces like the living room, kitchen, and bedroom, adjusting its cleaning approach accordingly. For instance, it uses denser cleaning patterns and higher suction in kitchens where food spills are common.

RONi incorporates LG Shield, a proprietary security system. Its closing station door after cleaning addresses privacy concerns related to camera exposure.

LG Shield is a comprehensive security system protecting customer data and devices throughout their lifecycle. It uses encryption, isolated storage, and real-time threat detection to ensure a secure smart home experience.

This robust security has earned LG the Privacy by Design (PbD) certification from the Personal Information Protection Commission.
