Former B.A.P member Jung Daehyun is set to explore new musical territory with his second mini-album, Puzzle.

Jung Daehyun will drop PUZZL(OV)E on various music platforms at 6:00 p.m. (Korean time) on Tuesday. This comeback comes roughly 10 months after his single ‘Haengro’ hit the airwaves last year.

Puzzle is a tapestry of love’s many facets, weaving together themes of longing, unresolved emotions, and the bonds that connect us. The album features the pre-released track ‘Deserted Island,’ alongside the title track “Spring After Spring,” “ONE,” and “Name.’

The title track “Spring After Spring” delves into the self-reproach of someone grappling with their inability to love. A sneak peek in the teaser video showcases a melody that tugs at the heartstrings. Jung takes center stage in the ‘Spring After Spring’ music video, bringing authenticity to the narrative-driven production. His portrayal of a character seemingly haunted by past wounds in the teaser has fans on the edge of their seats.

The pre-released “Why Am I Still Here” paints a picture of emotional isolation in the wake of faded memories. It explores the paradox of being unable to move on while reminiscing about what’s lost, suggesting that even self-pity can be a form of love. Jung Daehyun himself dubbed this track his life song during a highlight medley.

Jung Daehyun also teased that “ONE” would showcase a different side of his artistry, revealing that it was crafted with as much care as the title track and was a strong contender for the album’s lead single.

The standout track “Name” is a heartfelt tribute to fans, brimming with shared memories. In a nostalgic twist, B.A.P members Bang Yongguk, Yoo Youngjae, Moon Jongup, and Choi Junhong lend their voices to the chorus. This reunion, orchestrated by B.A.P leader Bang Yongguk – who had a hand in writing, composing, and producing the entire album – marks the group’s first collaboration in about 18 months. It’s sure to be a treat for longtime B.A.P enthusiasts.

This release marks Jung’s first full-length solo project since Chapter 2 in 2019, and he’s pulled out all the stops. Beyond his hands-on approach to the album’s production, Jung Daehyun flexes his acting chops in the music video. The buzz around a potential full B.A.P reunion has K-pop fans counting down the days.

Fans can dive into Jung Daehyun’s Puzzle starting at 6:00 p.m. (Korean time) on Tuesday (June 30).
