Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Star-Studded Wedding: Paul McCartney’s Epic Performance After 62 Years!

LifestyleTaylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Star-Studded Wedding: Paul McCartney's Epic Performance After 62 Years!

The wedding of Taylor Swift (36) and Travis Kelce (36) captivated global attention, with the highlight being a performance by Beatles legend Paul McCartney (84).

Major news outlets, including The Guardian, reported that Paul McCartney sang The Beatles’ classic “I Want to Hold Your Hand” at the reception on July 3 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

This marked Paul McCartney’s first public performance of the song in 62 years, since The Beatles’ last live rendition at New York’s Paramount Global theater in September 1964.

Paul McCartney, a longtime friend of Swift, gifted the newlyweds with one of his most iconic songs.

The star-studded event rivaled Hollywood award shows, with Adam Sandler of The Wedding Singer fame officiating. About 1,000 guests attended, including A-listers Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, and Jennifer Lopez.

Taylor Swift’s brother Austin Swift served as Man of Honor, while Travis Kelce’s brother Jason Kelce stood as Best Man, adding a touching family element to the proceedings.

Madison Square Garden was transformed into a lush forest for the occasion. Post-ceremony, the scoreboard flashed “JUST&T MARRIED,” while the Empire State Building glowed blue in celebration.

However, the event’s tight security caused traffic chaos in downtown Manhattan, frustrating local businesses and residents. One merchant lamented lost World Cup-related business due to the disruptions.

Compounding matters, New York faced its worst heatwave in 14 years. Power outages affected thousands, creating a stark contrast between the lavish ceremony and the city’s struggles.

Mindful of the controversy, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce declined wedding gifts, instead donating 26 million USD to 20 charities, including food banks, children’s hospitals, and animal welfare organizations across New York and the nation.
