Spider-Man: Brand New Day (hereafter Spider-Man 4) has dominated the box office for five straight days.
The Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system reported on August 3 that Spider-Man 4 drew 825,968 viewers on August 2, pushing its total audience to 3,384,152 and maintaining its top spot at the box office.
Spider-Man 4 chronicles Peter Parker’s journey after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home left him forgotten by all. He confronts a mysterious foe who remembers his identity while grappling with uncontrollable powers from DNA mutations. Amid this turmoil, Peter battles new threats to safeguard his loved ones.
Before its July 29 release, Spider-Man 4 set a 2024 record with 930,000 pre-sale tickets, signaling high audience anticipation. The film’s opening day saw about 680,000 viewers, surpassing 1 million in two days, 2 million in four, and 3 million in just five days. This meteoric rise mirrors the success of Exhuma and The Roundup: Punishment, which each drew over 11 million viewers to claim the top two box office spots in 2024, but suggests an even more explosive trajectory.
Hope secured second place, attracting 117,897 viewers that day and bringing its total audience to 4,110,583.
The animated feature Minions & Monsters drew 23,030 viewers, pushing its cumulative audience to 713,940.
