A new 18-hole park golf course is set to debut at World Cup Park in Seoul. This addition will expand the total number of holes to 36, creating a venue capable of hosting national-level tournaments.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on Monday that the second park golf course, located in Noeul Park in the Mapo District, will officially open on September 1.
Spanning approximately 22,000 square meters, the new course features 18 holes split between two 9-hole layouts: Course A (par 33, 535 meters (about 585 yards)) and Course B (par 33, 575 meters (about 629 yards)), totaling a par 66 over 1,110 meters (about 1,214 yards).
Following construction completion last December, the facility underwent a stabilization period for turf establishment. Over the past eight months, crews conducted irrigation and soil work to ensure optimal playing conditions. The development also includes a 123.28-square-meter clubhouse with climate control and six pavilions for player comfort.
The original park golf course, operational since 2010, also boasts 18 holes. With the new addition, World Cup Park will offer a total of 36 holes for park golf enthusiasts. City officials believe this expansion will position the venue to host major national tournaments.
The new course will operate in three daily sessions, except Mondays, accommodating up to 216 players. Summer hours will run from 8:10 a.m. to 5:40 p.m., while spring and fall hours will be 9 a.m. to 5:10 p.m.
Tee time reservations will open on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. through Seoul’s public service reservation system on a first-come, first-served basis.
Green fees for adults are set at 4,000 KRW (approximately 2.90 USD) for 18 holes. Seniors over 65, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are eligible for a 50% discount under local regulations.
Park Mi-seong, director of Seoul’s Western Parks and Recreation Center, expressed optimism about the new facility, saying that it hopes citizens will enjoy relaxation and healthy leisure activities amidst the open vistas and lush fairways of Noeul Park.
