EXO member and actor D.O.’s October solo concert venue has been relocated from Seoul Handball Stadium to KINTEX in Ilsan.
Ticketlink announced the change via their website on Tuesday. The company stated that due to unforeseen circumstances near the original venue, it has had to make the difficult decision to change locations to ensure audience safety and smooth event operations. It appreciates the understanding as it strives to provide a safer and more comfortable environment for the performance.
As a result, D.O.’s solo concert, initially set for October 2-4 at the Ticketlink Live Arena (formerly Seoul Handball Stadium) in Olympic Park, will now take place at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 5 in Goyang City on the same dates. The concert schedule remains unchanged.
The venue change stems from the ongoing Jamsil ballot counting center blockade protest. This demonstration, which began on June 5 in response to ballot shortages during the June 3 local elections, has persisted for months. The situation has already led to cancellations of shows by artists like Park Seo-jin, TVXQ’s Yunho, and Kim Yong-bin. D.O.’s venue relocation adds to the growing list of affected events.
In a related development, the Korean Sports Council, with police assistance, entered the Seoul Olympic Park Handball Stadium on Tuesday, breaking the 95-day blockade to remove office supplies and equipment. While protesters voiced objections during the process, no physical confrontations were reported.
