Singer Chungha is parting ways with her agency, More Vision, in what both parties describe as an amicable split.
News1 reported on Monday that Chungha and More Vision have mutually agreed not to renew their contract after careful deliberations. The existing agreement between the two parties is set to expire at the end of this month.
Chungha joined More Vision, the label helmed by multi-hyphenate artist Jay Park, in October 2023. During her tenure with the company, she released a string of singles including “EENIE MEENIE,” “Algorithm,” “STRESS,” and “Save Me.”
Most recently, Chungha dropped her fiery new single “México” on September 1, promoting it actively through various music show appearances.
The release of “México” marks the culmination of Chungha’s nearly three-year collaboration with More Vision. Sources close to both parties indicate that the decision to part ways was reached amicably, with mutual support for each other’s future endeavors.
Chungha first caught the public eye as a contestant on Mnet’s reality competition show “Produce 101” Season 1 in 2016. She subsequently debuted as a member of the project girl group I.O.I, which spawned hits like “Downpour,” “Very Very Very,” “When the Cherry Blossoms Fall,” and “Dream Girls.”
Following her stint with I.O.I, Chungha embarked on a successful solo career, cementing her status as a formidable K-pop soloist with chart-toppers such as “Roller Coaster,” “Gotta Go,” “Sparkling,” and “Snapping.”
