ZEROBASEONE members Seok Matthew and Park Geon-wook are set to form a new unit.

The group’s management unveiled the ZEROBASEONE Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) logo via their official social media channels at midnight on Friday, announcing the formation of this dynamic duo.

Fans can look forward to the release of ZEROBASEONE EMP’s debut mixtape on September 21 at 6:00 p.m. (KST)

The unit’s name, ZEROBASEONE EMP, cleverly draws inspiration from the concept of an Electro Magnetic Pulse. Just as an EMP momentarily silences all surrounding noise, this duo aims to create a space where only their music exists.

The EMP moniker also carries a double meaning, standing for Extra MTT (Matthew) PGW (Park Geon-wook). Here, Extra signifies beyond the ordinary, hinting at the innovative musical landscape the pair plans to craft through their EMP project.

Seok Matthew and Park Geon-wook first caught the public eye as contestants on Mnet’s hit audition show, Boys Planet. Their talents shone through, leading to their successful debut with ZEROBASEONE in July 2023. The group has since released popular tracks including “In Bloom,” “Feel the Pop,” and “Doctor! Doctor!”
Following a restructuring in March of this year, ZEROBASEONE has been operating as a five-member ensemble, with this new unit marking an exciting new chapter in their evolving story.
