Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has swung past the 9 million viewer mark in South Korea.

The Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing system reported that as of 9:29 a.m. (KST) on Wednesday, the web-slinger’s latest adventure had drawn a whopping 9,001,069 moviegoers.

This impressive feat sets a new record for the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise in the country. The film has now outperformed its predecessors, including Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, becoming the highest-grossing Spider-Man movie ever released in South Korea.

Since its July 29 debut, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been breaking records left and right. It reached the 1 million viewer milestone in just two days, 2 million in four, 3 million in five, 4 million in seven, 5 million in eleven, 6 million in thirteen, 7 million in nineteen, and 8 million in twenty-six days.

The blockbuster follows Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world has forgotten his identity. As he grapples with a mysterious new foe who remembers who he is and struggles with uncontrollable powers from a DNA mutation, Parker must face unprecedented challenges to protect those he loves. This action-packed spectacle continues to draw crowds to theaters nationwide.

On the global stage, the film has raked in an astounding 936.77 million USD at the North American box office alone. This figure edges out the 936.66 million USD earned by Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, dethroning the space epic and claiming the top spot on the all-time North American box office chart for the first time in 11 years.
